Description:
  Course covers how to implement a balanced pest control strategy that combines regular monitoring, record keeping, and threshold limits to determine if and when treatments are needed.

Covers core concepts of IPM as a combination of strategies and tactics:

  • address the root causes of pest infestations rather than simply treating the symptoms;
  • seek to reduce pest populations below the level where they cause unacceptable damage or annoyance; and
  • due consideration of non-chemical pest control methods, reducing dependency on pesticides.
Key Aspects of the IPM in Schools Course:
  1. Learn how to design and implement an IPM program in your school. This step-by-step review will include special considerations required for schools, including your cafeteria, locker rooms, student lounges, and grounds.
  2. Pest Management Programs In and Around School Grounds: Insect Identification and Non-Chemical Solutions
  3. Get valuable IPM reporting forms that can be used in planning an IPM program.
  4. Learn how to incorporate or specify IPM requirements for contracts
  5. Provides an update on changes in the rules and regulations.

Call for course schedule. You may  register online, by mail, or by phone. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and/or NJDEP Certified Pesticide Applicator recertification credits are available for qualified participants.
