Mission:
The mission of the New York Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides (NYCAP) is to eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals through education and outreach. NYCAP is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization seeking to improve public and environmental health by promoting the use of safer alternatives to pesticides, cleaning supplies and other chemicals, by advocating to reduce the risks in the manufacture, transportation, use and disposal of toxic chemicals, and by campaigning for environmentally sound public policy.

Operate an information clearinghouse with resource materials on the dangers of specific pesticide active ingredients; solving specific pest problems using a least-toxic approach.
Can provide assistance with school and municipal IPM policy development.
Can provide consultation on IPM methods.
Can provide consultation regarding pesticide dangers.
Can provide referrals to IPM consultants.
Maintains list of pest control professionals who are willing to use least-toxic methods upon request.
Maintains list of organic landscaping and lawn care professionals.
Maintains list of suppliers of least-toxic and organic products.
