Mission:

The NJ Environmental Federation, the NJ chapter of national Clean Water Action, is a no-profit, action-oriented organization with nearly 90,000 individual members and 108 environmental, community, labor, and student member groups. NJEF works to protect the environment, our health, economic well being and quality of life in our communities. NJEF organizes grassroots efforts at the local, state and national level to secure safe and affordable drinking water. NJEF promotes solid waste strategies without incineration, pollution cleanup and prevention, polluter pay policies, pesticide reduction practices, and "right to know" about toxic chemicals. NJEF empowers people to make democracy work. NJEF employs a professional staff, door to door and phone canvassers to activate our membership and allies. NJEF has offices in Belmar, Trenton, Montclair, and Marlton.

NJEF advocates for IPM and pesticide policies at the local, state, and federal levels that provide for  effective pest management that is economical and protective of human health and the environment. In addition, NJEF serves on advisory groups with pest control operators and Turf Management organizations with Rutgers University and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. Further, NJEF interacts with pest control operators to keep them informed of emerging technologies

Free consultation with school districts about assessment and development of IPM policies/programs.


Resource lists for IPM consultants, both indoors and out, and model policies/standards/contracts. This includes: an Integrated Pest Management and Low Maintenance Turf Resource List.


NJEF offers
presentations on IPM for school boards, facilities staff and administrators.
